Outdoor Recreation

Rivers and trails and greenways and parks.

With hundreds of parks in the St. Louis region and miles and miles of trails and rivers nearby, there’s plenty of opportunity to get outside. The City of St. Louis alone is home to more than 100 parks, including one of the nation’s biggest (and best) urban parks. At 1,300 acres, Forest Park sits at the western edge of the city limits, offering bike trails, golf courses, baseball fields, not to mention four world-class cultural institutions.

Outside the urban core, you’ll find wide-open green spaces a short drive away, from the Ozark Scenic Riverway and Mark Twain National Forest to Cahokia Mounds and Shawnee National Forest. And hundreds of miles of greenways throughout link neighborhoods and communities together.
