Picturesque Peninsula
Catch a ferry — a major mode of transportation for Calhoun — to reach parts of this small, picturesque county, located on a peninsula between the Mississippi and Illinois Rivers. Calhoun County is accessible from Missouri only by ferry and grows a third of Illinois’ peach crop on its family-owned farms. Brussels Historic District, McCully Heritage Project, Kamaroo Farms, and the Center for American Archaeology Museum are among some of the assets that are driving development in the county.
