Accessible Connections

Greater St. Louis, Inc. is invested in increasing vibrancy and economic activity at the street level Downtown. Through public-private partnerships, we’re working with city and business leaders to make major projects happen.

7th Street Upgrades

Downtown city intersection on Market Street with bright green-striped crosswalks, glass-clad office towers lining the street, traffic lights, street signs and trees under a clear blue sky.

Now complete, the project includes new, protected bicycle-pedestrian lanes, new trees and lighting, the repaving of 7th Street from Walnut to Washington, sidewalk and crosswalk improvements, and new traffic management upgrades, all of which provide a safe, well-lit, and more beautiful connection between two major Downtown anchors, Busch Stadium/Ballpark Village and Washington Avenue/the America’s Center.

Brickline Greenway

As part of the region’s growing 128-mile network of greenways, the new Brickline Greenway will add up to 20 miles of accessible bike and walking paths through 17 neighborhoods in the city of St. Louis, including Downtown. A segment on the western edge of Downtown on Market Street is already complete, with the eastern segments currently under design. Once fully complete, Brickline Greenway will connect the Gateway Arch with Forest Park and Fairgrounds Park to Tower Grove Park.
