Missouri Creating New Downtown Entertainment District

A large Ferris wheel lit with bright blue neon lights dominates the foreground above train tracks and station platforms, with a lit city skyline and buildings glowing against the dusk sky in the background.

This week, Missouri Governor Mike Kehoe joined civic and business leaders at St. Louis Union Station to sign a landmark bill that clears the way for a vibrant Downtown entertainment district. The legislation — designed to boost tourism, public safety, and economic growth — could provide local leaders with the ability to use state-backed financing to attract major concerts, sporting events, and big-ticket attractions to the region’s core.
