ST. LOUIS, MO – Greater St. Louis, Inc. and GeoSTL are announcing a formal partnership between the two organizations to connect talent, drive innovation, and spur growth for the region’s geospatial ecosystem. The agreement builds on the organizations’ existing partnership and emphasizes continued cooperation on business attraction and expansion efforts, public relations, and policy work to grow economic opportunity and further the St. Louis region’s position as a leading national hub for geospatial research and innovation.
“GeoSTL is already putting our region on the map as a leading national hub for geospatial research and innovation, work that is critical to our economic growth and ability to recruit and retain talent,” said Ron Kitchens, Managing Partner, Greater St. Louis, Inc. “Our region can only succeed when we bring everyone to the table and work together, and this MOU formalizes our organizations’ existing partnership. We look forward to our continued work with GeoSTL to grow the geospatial community in the St. Louis region.”
The St. Louis region has emerged as one of the nation’s leading centers for geospatial technology thanks to the development of the NGA-St. Louis campus and the range of industries located in the region that utilize geospatial technology, such as agriculture and public health.
“St. Louis has the assets, expertise, and momentum to lead the nation in geospatial technology,” said Mark Munsell, Executive Director of GeoSTL. “This partnership strengthens our ability to align the region around a shared strategy — connecting talent, accelerating innovation, attracting investment, and turning our geospatial strengths into lasting economic growth.”
With the new MOU in place, the organizations will work together to attract new geospatial companies to St. Louis while supporting and cultivating the geospatial companies and related businesses already established in the region. This work includes supporting pro-growth and pro-technology public policy, like the Missouri GIS Advisory Council Act, which creates a formal structure to align Missouri’s geospatial strategy and coordination, and advocating for restoring funding to the Missouri Technology Corporation.
Greater St. Louis, Inc. is signing similar MOUs with other regional partners, reinforcing its collaborative approach to advancing regional growth.
