Greater St. Louis, Inc. Applauds Missouri Senate Passage of Priority Bill

Greater St. Louis, Inc. calls on state House to support amended HB3231 to catalyze new investment and redevelopment of major vacant properties like AT&T and Railway Exchange buildings

ST. LOUIS – Greater St. Louis, Inc. today applauded the Missouri State Senate for its passage of legislation to spur revitalization of Downtown St. Louis and key corridors of commerce across Missouri.

“Creating more and better jobs is our focus, and to increase jobs and drive growth, our top priority this Missouri legislative session is the creation of an office-to-residential conversion tax credit that spurs hundreds of millions of dollars of new investment in Downtown St. Louis and Main Streets across the state,” said Ron Kitchens, Greater St. Louis, Inc. Managing Partner.

Greater St. Louis, Inc. has worked for the past three years in support of state legislation to catalyze redevelopment of Downtown St. Louis and Main Streets across the region.

“For the past three years, we have advocated for legislation to address major vacancies in Downtown St. Louis, including the AT&T and Railway Exchange Buildings. We are excited to see the bill pass the Senate and ask the members of the Missouri House to vote to pass this legislation so we can continue the momentum and get the bill to Governor Kehoe’s desk for his signature.

“Communities across the state, including Downtown St. Louis, need to see this become law.”

Greater St. Louis, Inc. has joined with other key stakeholders to support HB3231, which would create an office-to-residential conversion tax credit program, along with other new incentives and frameworks to drive investment and spur redevelopment efforts.
