In an ever-changing tech landscape and job market with increasing competition for technical positions, finding the right role can be a challenge.
At “LevelUp Your Job Search,” a free event organized by cybersecurity workforce nonprofit CyberUp, career professionals will connect with employers, workforce leaders, and members of the St. Louis region’s tech community to help better prepare them for the job market. Programing includes personalized mock interviews and resume reviews from Boeing human resources and talent acquisition professionals and learning ways to integrate AI into job searches. The event will be held on Thursday, August 27 from 2 to 5 p.m., with an optional networking reception to follow from 5 to 6 p.m.
“Our region’s tech workforce has taken a hit with the trend of offshoring, automation, and downsizing,” said Tony Bryan, executive director of CyberUp in a press release. “This event will connect those folks to industry professionals for real-time feedback and lessons on how to navigate this quickly changing job market. We are honored to partner with this amazing group to help the community.”
Boeing will be providing volunteers and career guidance on-site, and TechSTL is partnering on event outreach and community connections, while The Post Building is hosting the event.
“Transitioning from military service to civilian life can be a significant challenge, and meaningful employment is an important part of that journey,” says Dr. Candace Howell, Global Engagement Senior Manager at Boeing. “Our partnership with CyberUp’s LevelUp program is an investment in the local workforce, aimed at building skills, expanding opportunity, and connecting veterans to in-demand careers. Together with CyberUp, we are honoring their service while helping them secure their future.”
The event will emphasize individualized coaching and career readiness, with every participant receiving personalized feedback and practical strategies they can immediately apply to their job search.
“St. Louis has an incredibly talented technology community, and supporting that talent means creating opportunities for people to connect, learn, and move their careers forward,” said Emily Hemingway, CEO of TechSTL, in the release. “TechSTL is proud to partner with CyberUp, Boeing, and The Post to bring resources and industry connections directly to professionals navigating today’s job market.”
Event registration is free, but advanced registration is required due to limited capacity, according to the release.
