Calling all fans of the St. Louis Blues and local craft beer: Show off your Blues gear at Urban Chestnut Brewing Co.’s Oktoberfest in Kiener Plaza on Oct. 22 or 29, and score $1 off beers before cheering on the team at Enterprise Center.

On both nights, guests wearing Blues gear will receive $1 off beers at the Oktoberfest event, giving fans another reason to arrive early, meet up with friends, and enjoy Downtown St. Louis before puck drop. Hosted in partnership with Gateway Arch Park Foundation, Der Biergarten Oktoberfest transforms the recently reopened Kiener Plaza into a traditional beer garden, complete with local brews and tasty eats.

The free, public event runs from 4 to 7 p.m. on Thursdays throughout October, creating an inviting after-work destination and a natural pregame stop for fans attending Blues games and other events nearby.

“We’ve got this brand new, beautiful space at Kiener Plaza, and to us, it’s such an honor to be thought of to be able to come in so early on into that space being reopened and to be able to bring it to life,” says Kimberly Thro, field marketing manager at Urban Chestnut.

For the brewery, the series is about more than bringing its annual Oktoberfest tradition from its Midtown and Grove beer halls to a new location: It’s also an opportunity to introduce more people to Urban Chestnut’s German brewing heritage while helping activate one of Downtown’s most prominent public spaces.

The beer lineup showcases the brewery’s range, including Zwickel, its Bavarian lager; O-Katz Oktoberfest Märzen lager; and Fest Bier, a pale lager with notes of bread crust and toast. Guests can also find options such as Bushelhead hard cider, Squirrel Werks hazy IPA, nonalcoholic beverages, and wine. Bavarian-inspired food, including Gus’ pretzels and other happy hour snacks. complements the drinks, while communal beer garden seating, games, and other seasonal activities enhance the atmosphere.

For Gateway Arch Park Foundation, the Oktoberfest series also represents an opportunity to extend activity in a recently reopened public space and encourage more people to experience Downtown St. Louis. “When St. Louis-born companies like Urban Chestnut choose to continue to invest in and bring vibrancy to Downtown, our whole region benefits,” says Ryan McClure, executive director of Gateway Arch Park Foundation.
