Robust Agricultural Economy
Located south of Bond County on the easternmost edge of the region, Clinton County has a robust agricultural economy that also benefits from the tourism industry around Carlyle Lake—the largest man-made lake in Illinois. Located less than an hour from the City of St. Louis, Clinton County leads the state of Illinois in dairy farming and pork, wheat, and egg production.
