Overhaul of Dome, America’s Center Governance and Funding Becomes Law

Oversight of two of Downtown’s biggest and most important assets, The Dome and America’s Center, is now consolidated under one governing body, as Missouri Gov. Mike Kehoe signed legislation, House Bill 2934, overhauling governance and funding for the two facilities.

“By bringing two fantastic boards under one name, House Bill 2934 creates a stronger framework for collaboration and positions the St. Louis region for growth, investment, and long-term success,” said Gov. Kehoe.

The new law establishes a single, combined board of directors for the two facilities that will have equal representation by the State of Missouri, City of St. Louis, and St. Louis County.

The Bottom Line:

The Dome and America’s Center are prime drivers of economic activity, attracting people from across the country to major events and conventions.

This legislation simplifies governance and removes redundancy while provided dedicated funding for maintaining and improving the Dome, without raising taxes.

Said Brad Dean, President and CEO of Explore St. Louis, “Unified oversight of America’s Center and The Dome positions us to operate more strategically, compete more effectively for major events and ensure these assets continue delivering long-term value for our community.”
