Leading metro in Mississippi River Valley attracting new projects

Site Selection Magazine, the leading U.S. publication covering global corporate real estate strategy and economic development, today ranked the bi-state St. Louis metro No. 1 in its annual Mississippi River Corridor rankings. Site Selection ranked metro areas along the entire Mississippi River by the number of corporate facility projects attracted there over an 18-month period.

“This ranking provides even more evidence of St. Louis’ resurgence,” said Steven Pearce, Greater St. Louis, Inc. Chief Business Attraction Officer. “With billions of dollars of investment taking place in the core of the region, new companies choosing to do business throughout our 15-county metro, and stalwart businesses recommitting to St. Louis, we are seeing the type of investment and momentum we need as we work to achieve the goals of the STL 2030 Jobs Plan.”

With a total of 107 qualified projects this year, St. Louis catapulted from the No. 2 slot, adding nearly 20 additional projects in 2022 to the 88 recorded in 2021.

Greater St. Louis, Inc. continues to work with partners and civic and business leaders to attract new businesses to the metro.
