Some food pairings are simply meant to be. On Oct. 9, International Beer and Pizza Day, celebrate one of the world’s most beloved combinations in Downtown St. Louis at Katie’s Pizza & Pasta Osteria at Ballpark Village.

Located at 751 Clark Avenue, Katie’s brings its signature Italian-inspired menu to the heart of the city. Whether you’re gathering before a game, meeting colleagues after work, or simply looking for a reason to celebrate Friday, it’s an inviting place to share a few slices of hot pizza and cold beer.

Of course, not all pizzas are created equally. Katie’s menu gives the classic pie a creative twist, pairing familiar favorites with distinctive ingredients and unexpected flavor combinations. Take the Ezzo Pepperoni pizza, for example, which combines Ezzo pepperoni, stracciatella cheese, olio nuovo, wildflower honey, and Calabrian chile paste. The combination balances savory, creamy, sweet and spicy flavors.

For a more classic pie, the Margherita Red features San Marzano red sauce, mozzarella di bufala, and fresh basil. It’s a straightforward celebration of quality ingredients, with bright tomato and fresh basil complementing the richness of the cheese.

The menu also offers plenty of ways to round out the meal. Start with rosemary focaccia served with olio nuovo and aged balsamic, or share the restaurant’s pork and beef meatballs, served with San Marzano red sauce, Parmigiano, pine nuts, and basil.

For diners who want something with a twist, try Katie’s black garlic burrata “cheese bread,” which layers burrata with black, roasted, and shaved garlic; Pecorino Romano; and chives.

And while beer may be in the day’s spotlight, the restaurant’s broader menu makes it easy for a group to find something to enjoy together. With appetizers, salads, pasta, and other Italian-inspired dishes alongside its pizzas, Katie’s offers more than one reason to linger over a long lunch or dinner.

That spirit of sharing is part of what makes International Beer and Pizza Day worth celebrating: The occasion isn’t just about two favorite menu staples, it’s about bringing people together over good food, drinks, and conversation.
