St. Louis Regional CrimeStoppers announced a new program that will offer cash rewards for information leading to the arrest of subjects related to car break-ins in Downtown St. Louis.

Greater St. Louis, Inc. is donating $10,000 to CrimeStoppers to launch the initiative.

“Through our partnership with the Downtown Engagement and Public Safety Initiative, we have worked with the Mayor’s office, St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department, local businesses, and non-profit organizations to strengthen public safety Downtown through increased activations, events, and data-driven law enforcement strategies,” said Jason Hall, CEO of Greater St. Louis, Inc.

"We are pleased to provide funding for this new program and to further our commitment to making Downtown the safe, vibrant, walkable, and dynamic neighborhood at the heart of our metro."

The CrimeStoppers program has always offered up to $2,000 for information leading to part one felony crimes and up to $5,000 for information leading to the arrest of suspects wanted for homicide in the St. Louis region. The $10,000 donation from Greater St Louis, Inc. is, however, specifically designated for St. Louis’ Downtown and Downtown West neighborhoods.

Through this new pilot program, CrimeStoppers will offer cash rewards for information leading to the arrest of subjects related to car break-ins in St. Louis’ Downtown and Downtown West neighborhoods.

“If this Downtown pilot project is successful and Crimestoppers can obtain more donations in the future, we would look to replicate it across the region,” said Lisa Pisciotta, Executive Director of CrimeStoppers.
