ST. LOUIS – Following the success of City Social — Downtown’s premier block party in May — more free, outdoor events are coming to Downtown St. Louis, adding vibrancy to the heart of the metro. Starting Thursday, June 6, Greater St. Louis, Inc. will present Downtown Summer Nights, a weekly party in Kiener Plaza from 5-8 p.m. that will run through August.
"Downtown Summer Nights is the perfect way to celebrate summer in St. Louis, and Kiener Plaza is the perfect place,” said Kurt Weigle, Chief Downtown Officer for Greater St. Louis, Inc. “What is better than having a drink with friends or colleagues under the shadow of the iconic Gateway Arch?”
Entertainment will change each week and feature music, food, and fun with St. Louis’s best DJs including DJ Nico Marie, DJ Stazi, DJ Cuddy, and more. The lineup includes movie nights, dance performances, and a special Black-owned market for Juneteeth. Food and drinks will be available for purchase on site from St. Louis’ favorite food trucks and pop-up bars.
Downtown Summer Nights — sponsored by Greater St. Louis, Inc. — is one of many efforts underway to increase vibrancy, boost local businesses, and encourage foot traffic in Downtown St. Louis as part of the newly announced public-private partnership with the City of St. Louis to accelerate efforts to make Downtown safe, vibrant, and beautiful.
Other Downtown weekly summer activations include the increased infusion of live music throughout Downtown (local musician busking program) and Lunchtime Live (now through October). Lunchtime Live — celebrating 10 years in Downtown St. Louis — brings food trucks and live music to Old Post Office Plaza every Wednesday, 11:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. Food truck and musician schedules are updated weekly on downtownstl.org.
