Neighborhoods were packed with green, blue, and St. Louis red this weekend, as people from the Loop to the Landing celebrated St. Patrick’s Day, the first Battlehawks home game (a 24-11 victory over the Arlington Renegades), and 314 Day. On Saturday, 300,000 revelers gathered to watch the 54th annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade roll down Market Street toward the Gateway Arch. On Sunday, football fans broke a record, selling out the Dome at America’s Center with the biggest crowd in league history.

“St. Louis, for us, is an icon city for the XFL — it is an example of when everything is going right,” said Dany Garcia, chairwoman and co-owner of the XFL. “We look at the city, we look at this relationship, with inspiration. And we know that this is the bar.”

Throughout the weekend, 314 Day celebrations brought people to businesses and neighborhoods throughout the metro, adding to the celebration and reminding this resurgent region of the many reasons we can love where we live.

“We have a lot to be proud of in this region," said Greater St. Louis, Inc. CEO Jason Hall. "Whether your area code is 314, 618, 636, or anything else, we are all St. Louisans and should celebrate all the things that bring us together and make us stronger.”
