Greater St. Louis, Inc. today led a delegation of investors and community leaders to Jefferson City to advocate for regional business priorities with key state elected officials.
Throughout the annual Day at the Missouri Capitol, discussion with lawmakers centered on the business community’s top policy priorities, which include public safety, stable funding for the Missouri Technology Corporation, increased funding for public transit, and legislation that incentivizes Missouri businesses to increase their offerings of internship and apprenticeship opportunities.
“Our delegation’s active participation in engaging our elected leaders is critical in our collective efforts to achieve pro-growth public policy outcomes,” said Tracy Henke, Chief Policy Officer, Greater St. Louis, Inc. “Their engagement helps encourage the development of policies that create jobs, expand inclusive economic growth, and improve the St. Louis metro’s global competitiveness.”
The delegation began the day at the Governor’s Mansion in conversation with Governor Mike Parson, later meeting with House and Senate leadership and other legislators from both chambers.
Lawmakers from all over the state echoed the importance of the St. Louis region and acknowledged the metro as the economic engine of the state of Missouri. Greater St. Louis, Inc. looks forward to furthering that message and building even stronger relationships with leaders who make decisions that impact the region.
