Speaker series brings attorney general together with business, civic leaders
Greater St. Louis, Inc. hosted Missouri’s 44th attorney general, Andrew Bailey, this morning to discuss his top priorities and goals for his four-year term. As part of GSL’s Public Policy Speaker Series, Bailey spoke to an audience of business and civic leaders during the in-person event, which focused primarily on public safety.
“Crime does not care about regional boundaries,” said Bailey. “It is a regional problem that requires a regional approach.”
Public safety is top public policy priority for the business community. Greater St. Louis, Inc. was the first high-profile organization to speak up in the wake of the Janae Edmondson tragedy, making clear that the St. Louis Circuit Attorney’s failures on that case and so many others are “unforgiveable.”
“Strengthening public safety in St. Louis is the most critical policy issue we must address to ensure the entire metro’s economic competitiveness, and we appreciate Attorney General Bailey’s engagement with our investors on this critical issue,” said GSL CEO Jason Hall. “We look forward to working together with him and his office to address public safety and advance other changes that help us promote growth for the St. Louis metro.”
