This coming Monday, Jan. 15, Greater St. Louis, Inc. will join others across the St. Louis metro and around the world in pausing to honor the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
Last year, we committed to focusing more attention on the work our metro is doing to drive inclusive economic growth. To that end, we worked with regional partners to hold the inaugural Inclusive Economic Growth Summit, at which leaders from across the community shared ideas on how we can work together as a region to increase equity, access, and opportunity for all across race, gender, ability, geography, or economic status.
During the Summit, we rolled out a new online resource for the community, STL 2030 Progress, which provides data and mapping tools to show where we are making progress towards inclusive economic growth and where we still have work to do.
And we still have much work to do.
So, while we take Monday to reflect, we will be back Tuesday, hard at work to bring new opportunities to areas in need of investment and continue our efforts to fulfill Dr. King’s vision of a community working in collaboration, with respect, and toward the goal of ensuring the opportunity to thrive for all.
For those who wish to join in local efforts to honor Dr. King this Monday, we have compiled a list of events taking place across the metro in which you can participate. Thank you for your ongoing commitment, partnership, and support in this effort.
