Yesterday was a tragic day for our community. Most of us are still struggling to process everything that took place.

We know that we’ve lost members of our community as the result of a senseless and tragic act of violence.

And we know that we will need to support each other as a community to get through this.

The families of Alexzandria Bell and Jean Kuczka are in our thoughts, and the students and faculty of Central Visual and Performing Arts and Collegiate School of Medicine and Bioscience are in our hearts.

Our thanks to the first responders and members of law enforcement who put their lives on the line and got students and teachers to a safe place.

It will take time, but we will come together to get through this. We know things may be rough, so we encourage anyone struggling to deal with yesterday’s events to seek help. To speak with a professional free of charge, we encourage you to contact the Behavioral Health Response Crisis Line and Youth Connections Helpline.
