The St. Louis Board of Aldermen today approved legislation, Board Bill 33, establishing new regulations on short-term rental properties in the City of St. Louis. Greater St. Louis, Inc. issued the following statement regarding passage of the legislation:
“Thriving and safe neighborhoods, including Downtown, are critical to the growth and prosperity of our metro. For years, however, unauthorized parties occurring in short-term rental units have created public safety challenges throughout the City of St. Louis.
“Earlier this month, we urged the Board of Aldermen to find consensus on legislation to regulate short-term rentals. Board Bill 33 is a step in the right direction in regulating these problem properties. We applaud City leaders for their work to find consensus and develop solutions to address these public safety challenges.”
