GO! St. Louis, a local non-profit organization that has been presenting health and fitness events and programs for the region for more than 25 years, announced today a new collaborative partnership with Greater St. Louis, Inc. to bring a new marathon experience to athletes of all fitness levels to Downtown St. Louis.
The Greater St. Louis Marathon will replace the organization’s flagship GO! St. Louis Marathon Weekend that traditionally occurred every Spring. The new marathon also includes an exciting new experience at St. Louis CITY SC’s CITYPARK, where participants will get to enjoy a post-event finish line festival with music in one of the region’s most acclaimed new venues.
“I’m ecstatic that our organization has an opportunity to collaborate on this exciting new partnership with Greater St. Louis Inc., St. Louis CITY SC, and other important stakeholders to offer a new and refreshed event experience to the region,” said Mona Vespa, President of GO! St. Louis. The new race course will really showcase our great city, historic landmarks, beautiful parks and offer an event experience that celebrates our participant’s achievements.”
NEW EVENT HIGHLIGHTS
- New Date: Saturday, April 27, 2024
- New Venue: The marathon will start and finish in Downtown St. Louis.
- New Experience: The event includes a post-race festival and Saturday evening after-party showcasing the best of local St. Louis live music and food at CITYPARK.
- New Course: The route will give runners a great tour of St. Louis and all its historic sites, significant landmarks, and beautiful parks.
- New Partnerships: GO! St. Louis and Greater St. Louis, Inc. are proud to partner and introduce the Greater St. Louis Marathon, and St. Louis CITY SC will host the finish line festival at CITYPARK.

This partnership continues efforts led by Greater St. Louis, Inc. investors to activate Downtown to ensure it is the safe, vibrant, walkable – and runnable -- neighborhood at the heart of the St. Louis metro.
NATIONAL RUNNING CLUB CHAMPIONSHIPS & RALLY
In addition, the Greater St. Louis Marathon will host a brand-new event during Marathon Weekend: the inaugural National Running Club Championships & Rally. This one-of-a-kind event is a giant tailgate and weekend-long party for running clubs. Showcasing St. Louis on a national scale, the rally will be the largest running club meet-up in the country.
