New grant funding from the City of St. Louis’ Community Development Administration will fund four community projects spanning seven different neighborhoods. The grants, totally $1.14 million, come from the city’s economic development sales tax, and will be used to “turn neighborhood priorities into action.”

Of note, $279,500 will support three pilot shipping container businesses along the Brickline Greenway, which will create vibrancy and generate density in Jeff-Vander-Lou and St. Louis Place. And $388,000 will fund wayfinding improvements in Downtown West.

The Bottom Line: “The best ideas for how to strengthen St. Louis come from the people who live here,” said Mayor Cara Spencer. “These projects are the result of residents working together to plan the future in neighborhoods and the City of St. Louis followed through with the resources to make their visions real.”
